Become a Member of Franklin NC Fire & Resuce

Members of the community interested in joining Franklin Fire & Rescue as a volunteer must meet the following requirements:

Prospective members must reside or work within one mile of the Franklin Fire and Rescue response district or remain within the Franklin Fire and Rescue response district for a significant part of the workday/workweek.

Prospective members must be at least 18 YOA and complete a criminal background check and substance abuse screening pursuant to Town of Franklin policy(ies).

Prospective members must successfully complete an oral interview. Successful candidates will receive a copy of the rules and regulations prior to a conditional offer of membership being extended to the individual.

Upon receiving and accepting a conditional offer of membership, the prospective member will become a probationary member for a period not less than 12 months during which time the individual will be assigned a preceptor to assist in their membership process and allow them to become a productive member of Franklin Fire and Rescue.
